Dario Seixas Filho (born March 11, 1971) is a Brazilian-American rock bass player, singer, and songwriter who has played with multiple platinum-selling American rock bands. He has been credited by the Brazilian media as the first Brazilian musician to achieve this distinction in the American hard rock scene.[1]
Seixas is known for his work with Jack Russell's Great White, Firehouse, Stephen Pearcy of RATT, and is currently touring with Aldo Nova. He is also a member of Crown of Thorns and the original project Starless Sky.
Seixas was born in Niterói, a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied at the Music Conservatory of Rio de Janeiro before relocating to the United States to pursue a career in rock music. He is of predominantly Portuguese descent (92%).[2]
Seixas joined Firehouse as a replacement bassist and recorded bass on their 2003 album Prime Time, which was critically acclaimed.[3] He also toured with the band in support of the album. Firehouse had previously achieved multi-platinum success with hits such as "Love of a Lifetime" and "Don't Treat Me Bad."
In 2011, Seixas joined Jack Russell's version of Great White, performing the band's classic catalog including "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," "Rock Me," and "Save Your Love" at venues worldwide.[4] The lineup included Robby Lochner on guitar, Matthew Johnson on guitar, and Derrick Pontier on drums.[5] The band was described as "tight and clean, true professionals" in live reviews.[6]
Seixas departed the band in 2013.[7]
Seixas toured as bassist for Stephen Pearcy, the vocalist of RATT, performing the band's classic hits including "Round and Round" and "Lay It Down."[8]
He also performed with Neil Turbin, original vocalist of Anthrax, in 2004.[9]
In 2014, Seixas joined a new band with former DIO guitarist Craig Goldy and vocalist Mark Huff. Goldy described Seixas as "a very experienced and knowledgeable musician and quite multi-faceted."[10]
Seixas is a member of Crown of Thorns, the melodic hard rock band led by Jean Beauvoir (formerly of The Plasmatics and Little Steven's Disciples of Soul).
He has also been a member of the bands Goodbye Thrill, Endangered Species, Glass Wolfe, Amsterdam, and UKI.
In 2017, Seixas released a rock cover of George Michael's "Faith" which was featured on Sleaze Roxx.[11]
His original music project Starless Sky explores atmospheric rock with progressive elements.
Since 2023, Seixas has been the touring bassist and backing vocalist for Aldo Nova, the Canadian rock musician best known for the 1982 hit "Fantasy."[9] The 2026 tour includes dates at Summerfest in Milwaukee, the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, and venues across the United States and Canada.
